Privacy on this website

The short version

This website does not use cookies, analytics, tracking, advertising or any third-party scripts, fonts or embeds. We do not run a contact form. The only personal data we receive is whatever you choose to send us by email.

What we collect and why

• Emails you send us. Your name, address and message content, used to reply to your enquiry and, if we work together, to run the engagement. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries, or steps taken at your request before entering a contract.
• Server logs. Our web host, and Cloudflare which sits in front of this site, keep standard server logs, which include IP addresses and the pages requested. These are used for security and fault finding and are kept by those providers for a limited period.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted within 12 months. Records of work we do for clients are kept for as long as the law and our accounting obligations require.

Sharing

We do not sell personal data or share it for marketing. Our email, web hosting and content delivery providers (including Cloudflare, which handles each request to this site) process data on our behalf as part of providing those services. This site links to Derek Hampton's LinkedIn profile; nothing is loaded from LinkedIn until you follow the link, you are asked to confirm before leaving this site, and LinkedIn's own privacy policy then applies.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your personal data, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it, by emailing us using the contact details on our home page. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk (external site, opens in a new tab).
